If you encountered an error when importing your chat history, depending on the issue, the following causes may be to blame:
The Import Chat History option does not appear
If you are not using an SD card and the option to import your chat history does not appear, you need to manually copy the backup file over to the proper folder. Use a file managing app or connect your device directly to your PC to access the backup files and move them to the "LINE_backup" folder.
Note: If this folder does not exist, please create one.
If you are not sure how to create folders or move files, please contact the manufacturer of your device.
After you move the backup files, you will be able to restore them with the following steps:
1. Save the backup files to the folder titled "LINE_backup" on your device.
2. Open the chat room that you want restore the chats for > tap the V icon at the top-right of the screen > Chat Settings.
3. Tap Import Chat History.
If you did not select Backup All from the Backup Chat History option, you will not be able to restore your chats.
The app freezes or crashes
If the app freezes or crashes, your device may not have enough memory or the system specs are too low. Make sure your device has sufficient memory before exporting or importing your chat history. Please delete any unnecessary apps or data and restart your device before trying again.
Thank you for your feedback.
