What should I do if I forgot my password? toggle
If you have forgotten your password, please reset it using the corresponding set of steps below.

1. To change your email address or password

2. To carry over your account
If you select LINE User Login after changing to a new device or reinstalled the app and cannot recall your password, please follow these steps to send yourself a password reset email.

Please note that the password reset email will be sent to your email address registered to LINE.

a. Tap LINE User Login.
b. Tap Forgot your password?
c. Enter your registered email address.
d. Tap OK.

Carrying Over

What does it mean to carry over a LINE account? toggle
If you have registered an email address, when you change or reformat your device, you can carry over and continue using the account you have been using.

Please note that you cannot carry over your device by linking your Facebook account on Windows Phone, Blackberry, Nokia and Firefox OS smartphones.

What data can be transferred via account carry over? toggle
Please refer to the lists below for data that can and cannot transferred via account carry over.

Can be transferred
- Friends list (including groups)
- Profile settings (profile photo, name, Status Message, ID)
- Timeline
- Right to use LINE stickers (including gifted stickers)

Cannot be transferred
- Chat history
- Data from inegrated apps (LINE GAME, LINE PLAY etc.)

Please note integrated apps cannot be used on Windows Phone, Blackberry, Nokia and Firefox OS smartphones.

How do I carry over my account with an email address? toggle
Please register an email address on your device before carying over your account.

- Windows Phone, Firefox OS registration steps.
- Blackberry, Nokia registration steps.

To carry over your account:
1. Start LINE and tap LINE User Login.
2. Enter the email address and password you registered on your previous device and tap Login or Load.
3. Enter the verification code.

Registering Your Email

I'm not receiving the "Forgot your password?" email toggle
If you are not receiving the password reset email when you select Forgot your password?, please check the following:

• Did you enter your registered email address correctly?

• Are you entering the same email address as the one you registered?

• Was the password reset email sent to your spam inbox or filtered to any other folders?

• Do you have any spam filters turned on? If you do, please try again after temporarily disabling them.
Note: This includes filters for blocking emails that contain URLs, blocking emails from PCs, etc.

• Do you have domain filters active? If you do, please add "line.me" to the list of accepted domains.

• Does your email address conform to existing RFC standards?
The following are examples that do not conform to RFC standards:
- Email addresses with a dot (.) just before the @ sign: abcd.@xxx.com
- Email addresses with more than one dot in a row: ab..cd@xxx.com
- Email addresses starting with a hyphen: -abcd@xxx.com

• Did you request the password reset email again within a short time period? If you make multiple password reset requests within a short period of time, the password reset email may not be sent properly. In this case, please wait 24 hours and try again.

How do I register an email address? toggle
You can register an email by following the steps below. Please note that the steps may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.

1. Tap “...” at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Accounts.
3. Tap Email Registration.
4. Enter your email address and password, and tap Register or OK.

How do I change my registered email address? toggle
You can change your email address by following the steps below:
Steps may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.

1. Tap the "⋅⋅⋅" at the top of the screen
2. Tap Accounts > Register Your Email
3. Tap Change Your Email 
4. Enter the new email and password you want to register and tap OK

If you are having trouble registering, there is a possibility that there may be spaces in the email address or password you entered, as some devices are programmed to input spaces automatically. Please ensure there aren't any spaces.

The What's Up Feature

What is the "What's Up?" feature? toggle
The "What's Up?" feature is your space to sum up your thoughts and feelings in a few words. Had any great tasting food or done any fun activities recently? Then this is the place to write those thoughts down! You can also let other LINE users know how you are via these speech balloons!

You can easily check what your friends' What's Up? messages by going to your Friends list.

*Depending on which device you are using, the What’s Up? feature may be displayed as Status Massage.

How do I use the 'What's Up?' feature? toggle
'Setting up your 'What's up?' status is easy.
Go to "More > Profile > Status Message" to set up.

Can I delete what I have written in "What's Up?" toggle
“What’s Up?” is a space to write your own thoughts and feelings. Of course, as time goes by and situations change, so do your thoughts and feelings. At times like this you can go back and delete your previous messages in “What’s Up?”
*When you delete a previous message, and a map location or image becomes the most recent message; the next available text message or “emoji” will be displayed as your recent “What’s Up?” message.

LINE User ID

How do I create my LINE User ID? toggle
You can set your LINE User ID by doing the following:

1. Tap More at the main menu bar
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Profile
4. Enter the ID you wish to register and tap Check to see if it available.
5. If This user ID is available is shown tap Save

*Please note that once your LINE User ID is set, it cannot be changed.
*At step 4, if This User ID is unavailable is displayed, it means that the ID is already used by another user. Please try registering another one.

*As stated in our terms, it is forbidden to share and exchange IDs on the internet for match-making purposes. We kindly ask to refrain from such actions.
