Live talks let OpenChat members have voice conversations with each other in real time.
Note: This feature is only available in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Live talks have the following features and specifications.
Live talks can be started:
• Only by the admin or co-admins of an OpenChat.
• In each chat or subchat of an OpenChat.
Live talk participants include:
• Hosts, who run and manage the live talk.
Note: A Help article with more details is available in the following languages:
Japanese,
Chinese (Traditional), and
Thai.
• Speakers, who can speak in the live talk.
• Listeners, who can listen in to the live talk.
Live talks can be joined by:
• Members of an OpenChat.
Note:
- Non-members can also join as listeners when permitted in the live talk's settings.
- Non-members must join the OpenChat to speak and react in the live talk.
• Up to 10,000 participants (with up to 100 designated as speakers, including the host).
Live talks can be ended:
• Only by the OpenChat's admin or the live talk's host or co-hosts.
Note: Live talks have a maximum length of 48 hours, after which they end automatically.
Live talk information:
If a live talk is in progress, its information and progression status may be shown on OpenChat-related screens (e.g. the OpenChat
Home and
Category tabs, an OpenChat's cover screen).
All of the information for members-only live talks is also shown on the OpenChat
Home tab. However, not all in-progress live talk information is shown. It won't be shown if:
• Admin/co-admin approval is needed to join the OpenChat.
• Searching for the OpenChat is disabled.
• The OpenChat is age restricted. (This only applies to Taiwan.)
Additionally, some live talk information may not be shown depending on internal guidelines. Please understand that for security reasons, we are unable to provide details, such as reasons for the above or the details and criteria for suspensions.
A Help article about using live talks is available in the following languages:
Japanese,
Chinese (Traditional), and
Thai.
