About LINE POINT CLUB toggle
LINE POINT CLUB is a special incentives program that earns you rewards for your level. Your LINE POINT CLUB level is determined based on how many Points you've earned in the past six months from your use of LINE services.

Important:
- The My Level system has ended as of 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021.
- As of 12 am on May 1, 2021, payments made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card using Add & Pay will earn back 0.5% of your purchase total as Points.
- As of 10 am on May 1, 2021, there is no longer a limit on the number of reward coupons you can receive.

To check your coupons, go to the LINE main menu and tap the Wallet tab > LINE POINT CLUB > Rewards coupons

Validity period of reward coupons toggle

Important: Due to the My Level system ending, reward coupons for April 2021 will only be valid until 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021.


Reward coupons are valid from 10 am on the first of the month to 9:59 am on the first of the following month. Please be aware that you will no longer be able to use coupons after their validity period has ended.

I can't download reward coupons toggle

If you can't download reward coupons, it may be because:

• There is a limit on the number of coupons that can be distributed or used.

• You already have the maximum number of coupons allowed for your level.

Note: If you delete your LINE Pay account after downloading a coupon, you won't be able to download it again on a new LINE Pay account, even if the coupon wasn't used.

Any coupons that you are unable to download during this period will not carry over to the next month.

• The portion of a purchase that was discounted with a LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon).
• LINE Pay card (JCB brand) payments.
• Visa LINE Pay prepaid card payments.
• Google Pay (QUICPay+).
• Google Pay (iD)
• Apple Pay (iD).

I registered a Visa LINE Pay credit card, but my level isn't Platinum toggle
If your LINE POINT CLUB level is not Platinum even though you registered a Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account, it may be due to one of the following reasons.

• It's still the same month in which you registered your card.
Note: Your LINE POINT CLUB level will be updated after 10 am on the first day of the following month.
• You earned fewer than 5,000 Points in the past six months.

Important:
- The My Level system has ended as of 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021.
- As of 12 am on May 1, 2021, payments made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card using Add & Pay will earn back 0.5% of your purchase total as Points.
- As of 10 am on May 1, 2021, there is no longer a limit on the number of reward coupons you can receive.

About the Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
A Visa brand credit card with all of the perks of LINE Pay, the Visa LINE Pay credit card can be used in over 200 countries and regions around the world.

• Make payments at LINE Pay merchants without adding money to your LINE Pay balance in advance.

• Earn Points after linking your Visa LINE Pay credit card to LINE Pay.

- Points for Add & Pay
Before 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021: Depending on your level, payments made at LINE Pay merchants using Add & Pay earn back 1-3% of your purchase total as Points. (The My Level system has ended as of 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021.)
After 12 am on May 1, 2021: Payments made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card using Add & Pay earn back 0.5% of your purchase total as Points.

- Points for credit card purchases
Credit card purchases made at Visa merchants earn back 3% of your purchase total as Points.
Note: The first-year perks for the Visa LINE Pay credit card have ended as of 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021. Credit card purchases made between 12 am on May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022 will earn back 2% of your purchase totals as Points.

About LINE Points eligibility
You need to link your Visa LINE Pay credit card to LINE Pay to receive Points.

About the annual credit card fee
There is no annual fee for the first year. After the first year, there is an annual fee of JPY 1,375 (including tax); however, you will not be charged the annual fee if you make at least one credit card purchase a year.

How long does it take to receive the Visa LINE Pay credit card after applying? toggle
After finishing the online application for your Visa LINE Pay credit card, the time it takes for the card to arrive will differ depending on which method you used for setting a bank account.

If you set the bank account online:
Your card will arrive about one week after you finished setting the bank account.

If you set the bank account via post:
Your card will arrive within two to three weeks of sending your bank account information.

To register your Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account: 
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Apply for or register a new card under "Visa LINE Pay credit card" > Link card.
2. Enter your card information.
3. Tap Add a card.

Note:
- You can also register your Visa LINE Pay credit card from Add Credit Card on the LINE Pay main menu.
- You will not earn Points until your Visa LINE Pay credit card is registered to your LINE Pay account.

Only one Visa LINE Pay credit card can be added to a LINE Pay account.

About Add & Pay toggle
Add & Pay lets you make payments without adding money to your LINE Pay balance in advance.

Payment amounts are charged to your Visa LINE Pay credit card or Visa credit card issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Card (SMBC) registered with LINE Pay.
Note: ANA cards are excluded.

Add & Pay can be used with:
• Code payments.
• Online payments.
• Payments using the Pay bill feature.

Add & Pay cannot be used with:
• ANA cards issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Card (SMBC).
• Credit cards other than the Visa credit cards issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Card (SMBC).
• Google Pay (QUICPay+).
• Apple Pay (iD payments).
• Google Pay (iD payments).

Important:
- Add & Pay cannot be used together with your LINE Pay balance or LINE Pay Bonus.
- Add & Pay may not be accepted at some merchants.

Using your Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
You can use your Visa LINE Pay credit card at LINE Pay or Visa merchants.

LINE Pay merchants
By registering a Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account, you can use Add & Pay to make code paymentsonline payments, and payments using the Pay bill feature.

See this Help article for information on registering your credit card, and this Help article for details about Add & Pay. 

Visa merchants
For information on how to use your Visa LINE Pay credit card at Visa merchants, see here (only available in Japanese).

By adding your card to Apple Pay, you can also make:
• iD payments.
• Visa contactless payments.
• Online payments at stores where Apple Pay is accepted.
Note: You won't earn Points if your Visa LINE Pay credit card isn't registered to your LINE Pay account.

When you add the Visa payment method to Apple Pay, the Visa brand logo will appear as the image for your Visa LINE Pay credit card in Apple Wallet on your iPhone. If you don't see the logo, delete your card and add it once again by following the steps below.
Note: The Visa payment method will not be added if you only enter the security code after deleting your card.

1. In Apple Wallet, tap "+" > Continue > Credit or Prepaid Card > Enter Card Details Manually.
2. Enter your credit card information and tap Next.

Visa LINE Pay credit card limits toggle
Spending limit for payments at Visa merchants
Check your limit on the Vpass online service offered for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders (only available in Japanese).
Note: You'll need to log in to your Vpass account.

LINE Pay spending limits
Check your limits by going to the LINE Pay main menu and tapping Settings > Balance Types and Limits.

If you've exceeded your Visa LINE Pay credit card limit, you cannot use Add & Pay to make payments at LINE Pay merchants. In this case, change your payment method to LINE Pay balance when using LINE Pay to make payments at LINE Pay merchants.
Note:
- You need to add money before you can make payments from your LINE Pay balance.
- Make sure you haven't exceeded your LINE Pay spending limits.

To change your payment method to your LINE Pay balance, go to the LINE Pay main menu and tap Add & Pay or Payment method in the middle of the screen.

Making installment and revolving payments with Add & Pay toggle
To set up installment or revolving payments, first complete a payment and then apply for あとから分割 (Pay with installments later) or あとからリボ (Make revolving payments later) on the Vpass online service offered for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders.
Note: You cannot choose to make installment or revolving payments before making a payment with LINE Pay.

Payment and withdrawal dates toggle
For Add & Pay purchases
As a rule, the amounts for transactions completed between the first and last day of each month are withdrawn on the 26th of the following month.
Note: When the 26th is a Saturday, Sunday, or national holiday, the withdrawal date will be the next business day.

To check the "Transaction complete" date for a payment, go to the LINE Pay main menu, tap History, and select the payment.

For credit card purchases at Visa merchants
Check your payment details on the Vpass online service for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders (only available in Japanese).
Note: You'll need to log in to your Vpass account.

When are Points issued? toggle
Points are issued within a few days of the date you see in your history on the Vpass online service for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders. (Only available in Japanese).
You will not receive a notification message from the LINE Wallet official account when your Points are issued.
Note: To check your history or payment details, you need to log in to your Vpass account.

To check the Points you've received, go to the LINE main menu > Wallet > LINE POINT CLUB > History.

You will not be issued Points if your LINE account's verified country is changed from Japan to any other country before Points are issued.

You can check your Visa LINE Pay credit card transaction history using either of the methods below.

To check payments made at LINE Pay merchants:
Go to the LINE Pay main menu and tap History.

To check payments made at Visa merchants:

Can I add money to my LINE Pay balance from a Visa LINE Pay credit card? toggle
You cannot add money to your LINE Pay balance from a Visa LINE Pay credit card. However, by linking the card to LINE Pay, you can make payments at LINE Pay merchants without adding money in advance using Add & Pay.

Refund timing for canceled payments toggle
It can take a few days or up to several months to receive refunds for canceled Add & Pay payments or card payments made at Visa merchants.
Note: The refund will not be made to your LINE Pay balance.

Also, a refund cannot be issued until the cancelation has been processed by the merchant. You can check the cancelation status for online payments in the relevant online service's purchase history.

For Add & Pay
Refunds are issued once a payment has a "Transaction complete" date in its Purchase Details. To check a payment's details, go to the LINE Pay main menu and tap History > the payment.

If you cancel a payment that used Points, the Points will be refunded along with the amount used from Add & Pay.

For credit card purchases at Visa merchants
Refunds will be issued in one of the following ways:
• The refund amount will be subtracted from the billed amount on the payment date, canceling out the payment amount.
• You will be charged on the payment date, then receive a refund on the payment date the following month.

I didn't get Points for using my Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
Points are issued within a few days of the date you see in your history on the Vpass online service for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders. (Only available in Japanese.)
Note:
- This also applies to Add & Pay payments.
- It can take a few days or up to several months to complete a transaction with some merchants. 
- You need to log in to your Vpass account to check your payment history.
- To check the names of merchants where you made Add & Pay payments, go to the LINE Pay main menu and tap History.

To check your Point balance and history, go to the LINE main menu > Wallet > LINE POINT CLUB.

Points will not be issued for any purchases made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card before it has been registered to your LINE Pay account, so make sure to register your card before you start using it.

If you're registering a newly issued Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account, make sure to delete the card that you were using previously first. For the steps to register/delete a credit card, see this Help article.

Additionally, some types of payments are not eligible to receive Points. See this Help article for details.
Note: You will not be issued Points if your LINE account's verified country is changed from Japan to any other country before Points are issued.

You will not receive LINE notifications for the following transactions:
• Payments of JPY 10 or less
• iD payments that are less than a certain amount
• Recurring payments (e.g. utility fees, mobile service bills)
• Some e-money payments (e.g. electronic toll collection systems)
• Some in-flight and on-ship payments
• Returns and cancelations
• Payments at some stores/for some services specified by Sumitomo Mitsui Card

Notifications may also be delayed or not sent in other cases, depending on where the payment was made.

If your card was stolen or lost

If your card has problems with the magnetic strip or other damage
Apply to have your card reissued from the Vpass online service (only available in Japanese).

Please remember that Points will not be issued for any purchases made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card before it has been registered to your LINE Pay account. Make sure to register your Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account before using it (including when you've had it reissued).

Canceling your Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
You can cancel your Visa LINE Pay credit card via the Vpass online service offered for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders (only available in Japanese).
Note:
- You'll need to log in to your Vpass account.
- Canceling your Visa LINE Pay credit card doesn't delete your LINE or LINE Pay account.

Before canceling your credit card, be sure to confirm the information below.

If you have any pre-approved payments for a LINE Pay merchant
Your pre-approved payment contracts will be deleted with the cancelation of your credit card. Check the current status of your payments by going to the LINE Pay main menu and choosing Settings > Pre-approved payment.
Note: To change or cancel a pre-approved payment, contact the merchant that appears.

If your LINE POINT CLUB level is Platinum
Be aware that your level will drop to Gold or lower the month after you cancel your Visa LINE Pay credit card.
Note: You must have a Visa LINE Pay credit card added to your LINE Pay account for your level to be Platinum.

If your LINE Pay payment method is set to Add & Pay
After canceling your Visa LINE Pay credit card, you will no longer be able to use Add & Pay.

When making online, Pay bill, or code payments at LINE Pay merchants, be sure to change the payment method in the LINE Pay main menu to LINE Pay balance.

You can apply for a different Visa LINE Pay credit card design from the Vpass online service for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders (only available in Japanese).
Note: There is a service fee of JPY 1,100 (including tax) for changing the design of your card.

Please remember that Points will not be issued for any purchases made with your Visa LINE Pay credit card before it has been registered to your LINE Pay account.

Make sure to register your Visa LINE Pay credit card to your LINE Pay account before using it (including when you've had it reissued).

Applying for a family Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
With the Visa LINE Pay credit card, you can apply to have a family card issued for one family member for free.
Note: There is a JPY 440 (including tax) service charge for each additional family member.

A family card cannot be issued at the same time as your ordinary Visa LINE Pay credit card. After having an ordinary card issued, check the details on this page (only available in Japanese), log in to your Vpass account, and then apply for a family card.

Points earned for the use of a family card are issued to the LINE Pay account that is linked to the card.

Applying for an ETC Visa LINE Pay credit card toggle
You can apply for an ETC (electronic toll collection) Visa LINE Pay credit card with no annual membership fees for the first year.
Note: There is an annual membership fee of JPY 550 (including tax) after the first year. However, the annual fee will be waived each year if you use the card to make ETC payments.

You can have the ETC card issued when you apply for an ordinary Visa LINE Pay credit card, or at a later date. If you have the ETC card issued later, make sure to check the details on this page (only available in Japanese) and log in to your Vpass account before applying.

Points earned for ETC card use are issued to the same LINE Pay account that is linked to your Visa LINE Pay credit card.

Additionally, Visa LINE Pay credit card payments for some services and products are not recognized as eligible for Points by Sumitomo Mitsui, Visa, or LINE Pay. In these cases, you will know that your payment was not eligible if you do not receive Points.

I received a notification from LINE Wallet (LINEウォレット) for a payment at a Visa merchant (Visa加盟店) toggle
When you use your Visa LINE Pay credit card and the merchant makes a temporary deduction to test its validity, you will receive a notification that a payment was made at a Visa merchant (Visa加盟店).

Also, with some merchants, certain payments are processed at a later date, instead of at the time you use your card. 

You may be charged later on for:
• Using a Visa LINE Pay credit card for online shopping (e.g. at Amazon).
• Recurring payments (e.g. utility payments, monthly fees, subscription fees).
• Temporary charges for small amounts (e.g. JPY 11, JPY 100) to confirm the validity of your card.
• Hotel reservations, item pre-orders, and other similar transactions.

Payments are not finalized at the time notifications are sent out, so they will not immediately appear in your transaction history on the Vpass online service for Sumitomo Mitsui credit card holders. Once a payment is finalized on the merchant side, the merchant's name and the final payment amount will appear in your Vpass transaction history.
Note: It can take a few days or up to several months for payments to be finalized.

To add your card to Apple Pay, follow the steps below.
Note:
- You can add your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card after you've created it.
- Cards cannot be added with the Apple Wallet app.

If you want to use your card with your Apple Watch, you need to add your card to your watch from the LINE app first, and then add the card on your iPhone.

To add your card to use with Apple Pay on your Apple Watch:
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Prepaid card.
2. Tap Visa LINE Pay prepaid card > Apple Pay > Get started.
3. Enter your LINE Pay passcode.
4. Select Apple Watch.
5. Tap Next > Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

To add your card to use with Apple Pay on your iPhone:
1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Apple Pay.
2. On the Apple Pay introduction screen, tap Get started.
3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and enter your LINE Pay passcode.

With some exceptions, you can use your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card to make online payments at overseas merchants.
Note: You cannot use your card at overseas merchants with a LINE Cash account.

If your payment amount is in another currency, it will be converted to Japanese yen at the settlement rate specified when the payment is processed in Visa's payment center, plus an overseas transaction-related internal processing fee of 4.07% (tax included).

Visa LINE Pay prepaid cards cannot be used at physical locations overseas. This includes locations that support iD payments with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

After you use your card, the merchant name will appear as "Visa LINE Pay Prepaid Card" until we receive the final payment confirmation. Once we receive final confirmation, the name of the merchant where you used your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card will appear.
Note:
- It can take up to two months for us to receive final confirmation.
- Some merchant names appear immediately after you make a purchase.

As of 12:00 am on August 1, 2021, you get 1% of your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card payments back as Points at a later date.
Note: The last day for issuing Points has not been decided, but we will make an announcement in advance when the promotion ends.

When Points are issued
After using your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card for a month (from the first to the end of the month), Points will be issued to you in a lump sum three months later (around the middle of the month).

Examples:
- For payment made in August 2021, Points will be issued in the middle of November 2021 (usually between the 10th and 19th).
- For payments made in September 2021, Points will be issued in the middle of December 2021 (usually between the 10th and 20th).

Eligible payment methods
• Online shopping with your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card
• Online shopping with your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card registered to Google Pay
• Contactless payments at iD merchants with your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card registered to Apple Pay/Google Pay

There are no restrictions on where you can make your purchases, what you can buy, or how much you can spend.

I can't make a payment with my Visa LINE Pay prepaid card toggle
If you were unable to make a payment, your payment attempt will appear in your Notifications (the bell icon at the top of the LINE Pay main menu).
Note: In some cases, the reason why you couldn't make the payment will also appear.

If you don't see a payment attempt in your Notifications, it means that your card cannot be used at the merchant.

Some common cases of being unable to use your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card include: 
• When you don't have enough money in your LINE Pay balance.
• When the Use card setting is OFF.

You may have issues making a payment because:
• The total is less than JPY 11.
• It is for a monthly payment or renewable contract.
• You did not select to make a one-time payment.
• You are trying to purchase or add money to a prepaid card/e-money service.
• It's for a cashable product.
• It's for an airline's in-flight sale.
• The merchant doesn't accept prepaid cards (e.g. utility companies, gas stations).

You may also experience other issues because:
• The total payment amount exceeds your spending limit.
• A LINE Pay administrator suspended your account.

Additionally, use of your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card may not be available due to the merchant's usage environment or our regulations.

I was charged twice for a payment toggle
If you were charged twice for a payment, it may be because:
• One of the payments was a deposit (i.e. security money for a payment).
• We received payment data from the merchant multiple times (e.g. because the amount was revised).
• The original purchase amount didn't match the amount of the finalized payment.

The duplicate amount will automatically be refunded and appear in your LINE Pay balance after 60 days have passed from the purchase date.

Below are some examples of payments you may be charged for twice.
• Hotel stay deposits
• Reserved items that haven't been shipped
• Plane ticket purchases
• Ticket lotteries
• Purchases with revised amounts

It takes around two weeks for the amount from a canceled payment to be refunded to your LINE Pay balance.

To set up Visa contactless payments, follow the steps below.
Note: After you've created a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card, you can add it as a payment method.

1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Google Pay > Visa contactless payments.
2. Tap Add to Google Pay.
3. Enter your LINE Pay passcode, then tap Continue.
4. After being redirected to the Google Settings screen, follow the on-screen instructions and finish setting up contactless payments.

You may need to unlock your device to make Visa contactless payments.

I can't add my card to Google Pay (iD payments) toggle
If you can't add your card to Google Pay (e.g. you see an error), make sure that:
• You aren't trying to add a JCB brand LINE Pay card. (JCB brand LINE Pay cards cannot be added.)
• The card you're trying to add wasn't suspended.
• You've deleted any canceled cards from Google Play before trying to add a newly issued card.
• You're using the latest version of the LINE app.
• You're using Google Pay on a device that supports the service.
• You're adding a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card from within the LINE app.
Note: For the steps to do so, see this Help article.

You may temporarily be unable to add your card if you fail to add it multiple times in a row. If this is the case, try again after waiting at least one day, or contact Google for assistance.

Using Google Pay (iD payments/Visa contactless payments) toggle
By adding one of the following cards to Google Pay on a compatible device, you can use the service at Visa merchants that support contactless payments and merchants bearing the "iD" logo. 

 


Tell the cashier that you want to make a Visa or iD payment, then hold your device over the scanning terminal.
Note:
- You may need to unlock your device to make Visa contactless payments.
- Some devices (such as Google Pixel) may need to be unlocked to make iD payments.

To make online payments with Google Pay, you'll need to do one of the following:
• Register an additional payment method on the Google Pay website.
• Download the Google Pay app and register your information.

Note: The "iD" logo and "iD Prepaid" are registered trademarks of NTT DOCOMO, INC.

Places where Google Pay (iD payments/Visa contactless payments) is accepted toggle
You can use Google Pay at:
• Visa merchants that support Visa contactless payments
• iD merchants
• Online Google Pay merchants

To make online payments with Google Pay, you'll need to do one of the following:
• Register an additional payment method on the Google Pay website.
• Download the Google Pay app and register your information.

If you're using your Visa LINE Pay prepaid card with Google Pay, you may not be able to use your card at vending machines, gas stations, or some other merchants. For more information, see here (only available in Japanese).

Can I use Google Pay (iD payments/Visa contactless payments) outside of Japan? toggle
iD payments with Google Pay can only be made at iD merchants in Japan.

However, you can use Google Pay to make Visa contactless payments at overseas merchants if the following conditions are met.
• You're using a LINE Money account.
• You've set up Visa contactless payments.
• The Visa merchant supports Visa contactless payments.
Note: You'll need to unlock your device to make Visa contactless payments.

If you added a Visa LINE Pay credit card to Google Pay, make sure that:
• There are no issues with your card.
• The device you set your card on supports Google Pay.

If you added a Visa LINE Pay prepaid card to Google Pay, make sure that:
• There are no issues with your card.
• The device you set your card on supports Google Pay.
• You aren't trying to use Google Pay to make payments at any of the following:
- Vending machines
- Gas stations
- Phone service providers
- Some hotels
- Manned highway tollbooths

You need to register Google Pay once again on your new Android device.
Note: If you change to a device running a different OS (such as an iPhone), you will not be able to use Google Pay.

About the LINE Pay service toggle
LINE Pay is a smartphone digital wallet service offered by LINE. You can use it to shop both online and offline by adding money to your LINE Pay balance in advance or adding a credit card.

Note: To sign up for LINE Pay, you need a LINE account that is registered with a Japanese phone number.

By verifying your identity, you can convert your LINE Cash account to a LINE Money account and get access to features for sending and withdrawing money.
