Coupons

LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon) types

We offer reward coupons for discounts of a certain amount or percent off when using LINE Pay.

You can find out about reward coupons in messages from the LINE Pay official account and merchants' official LINE accounts, or get them at places like physical stores.

You can also get LINE POINT CLUB reward coupons by going to the Wallet tab and tapping LINE POINT CLUB > Reward coupons.

Note: Unlike the LINE coupons you can use by tapping LINE POINT CLUB > Coupons from the Wallet tab, these coupons can only be used when you make payments with LINE Pay.

Using LINE Pay coupons (reward coupons)

The steps to use LINE Pay coupons differ depending on how you pay. See the instructions below for your situation.

Payments made with My Code

To use coupons from the My Code screen:

1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap My Code > Check available coupons.

2. Tap a coupon (or a reward coupon if the list of Reward coupons appears), then tap Redeem by paying via My Code after the coupon has been downloaded.

3. Make sure the LINE Pay coupon that you selected appears on the My Code screen.

4. Turn ON Use LINE Points if you want to use them.

Note: You cannot specify the number of Points that you want to use.

5. Show your code to the clerk when checking out at the store.

To use coupons from the My Coupon screen:

1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap My coupon > the coupon that you want to use.

2. Tap Redeem by paying via My Code.

3. Make sure the LINE Pay coupon that you selected appears on the My Code screen.

4. Turn ON Use LINE Points if you want to use them.

Note: You cannot specify the number of Points that you want to use.

5. Show your code to the clerk when checking out at the store.

Scanning a merchant's QR code

1. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap Scan.

2. Scan the merchant's QR code.

3. Enter the payment amount and tap Pay [amount].

Note: You don't need to enter the payment amount in some cases.

4. Check if the coupon was automatically applied.

Note: Tap "X" if you're not using coupons.

5. Check the discounted price using the coupon and tap Pay.

Note: Turn ON Use LINE Points if you want to use them.

6. Show the clerk the payment completion screen.

Online payments

1. On the payment screen, tap Check available coupons.

2. Check if the coupon was automatically applied.

3. Check the discounted price using the coupon.

Note: If you're using Points, enter the amount you want to use.

4. Select a payment method and tap Pay [amount].

5. Check each item on the confirmation screen, then tap Pay.

There are conditions for using LINE Pay coupons. From the LINE Pay main menu, tap My coupon and select a coupon to see the conditions for using it.

I can't use a LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon)

You cannot use a LINE Pay coupon when making a payment in any of the following situations.

• A minimum payment amount has been set for the coupon, and the discount amount is greater than the payment total.

LINE Pay coupons for a specified amount that have a minimum payment amount set in their terms of use cannot be used if the discount is greater than the price of the item you are trying to purchase.

Example: If you have a coupon for a discount of JPY 100 that can be used for My Code payments of JPY 101 or more, it cannot be used on an item that costs JPY 90.

• The discount amount is greater than the maximum discount limit.

Coupons for a certain percent off cannot be used if the discount amount exceeds the maximum amount possible for a discount. The maximum discount limit is stated on the LINE Pay coupon.

Example: If you purchase an item for JPY 10,000 and use a LINE Pay coupon for 10% off with a maximum discount limit of JPY 500, the maximum discount limit is JPY 500 (even though 10% of JPY 10,000 is JPY 1,000).

• The coupon has been made unavailable.

LINE Pay coupons cannot be used if they've been withdrawn or suspended.

• LINE Pay is not accepted at the store or ticket machine you are using.

• LINE Pay is not accepted at the tenant store of the shopping center you are visiting.

• The coupon you selected is not accepted by the merchant.

• You've already used the coupon, or it has expired.

• The coupon can only be used a set number of times, and you have reached the limit.

• You're making a payment at a PayPay merchant.

Where can I use LINE Pay coupons (reward coupons)?

You can see which LINE Pay coupons can be used at different merchants from My Coupon in the LINE Pay main menu.

Checking a LINE Pay coupon's (reward coupon's) expiration date

You can see each LINE Pay coupon's expiration date under My Coupon in the LINE Pay main menu. In addition to expiration dates, you can also see where each coupon is accepted, and other relevant information.

Can I use a LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon) after I've made a payment?

Unfortunately, LINE Pay coupons cannot be used for payments you've already made.

If you want to use a LINE Pay coupon, please cancel the payment and make the purchase again using the coupon.

Note: Please understand that some payments cannot be canceled.

Reusing the same LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon) from a canceled payment

You can reuse the same LINE Pay coupon from a canceled payment as long as the coupon is still valid. If a coupon has expired, you will not be able to reuse it.

Example 1: If you used a LINE Pay coupon with an expiration date of December 20, 2019 for a payment that was canceled on December 10, 2019, you will be able to reuse it until December 20.

Example 2: If you used a LINE Pay coupon with an expiration date of December 20, 2019 for a payment that was canceled on December 31, 2019, you will not be able to reuse it.

A LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon) isn't appearing in My coupons

If a LINE Pay coupon (reward coupon) you thought you downloaded isn't appearing in My coupons, it may be due to one of the following reasons.

• You were looking under My coupons in the stand-alone LINE Pay app for a coupon that can be used for online payments.

With versions earlier than 3.3.0 of the stand-alone LINE Pay app, only coupons that can be used at physical store locations appear under My coupons. To check your reward coupons, either update the stand-alone LINE Pay app or go to the LINE app's main menu and tap the Wallet tab > LINE Pay > My coupon.

• The coupon wasn't downloaded.

Try downloading the coupon again from the promotion or reward coupon page.

• You deleted your LINE Pay account after receiving the coupon.

If your LINE Pay account is deleted, your coupons will also be deleted and they cannot be restored.

• The coupon expired.

From the LINE Pay main menu, tap My coupon > Expired coupons and check if the relevant coupon is there.

• The coupon was already used.

LINE Pay coupons are automatically applied when you make payments online or by scanning a store's QR code. Check if the coupon was already used by going to History from the LINE Pay main menu and tapping each payment.

Do reward coupons that I didn't download during the month carry over to the next month?

Important: Due to the My Level system ending, reward coupons for April 2021 will only be valid until 11:59 pm on April 30, 2021.

The availability period for reward coupons is from 10 am on the first of the month to 9:59 am on the first of the following month.

Any coupons that you are unable to download during this period will not carry over to the next month.
