Your profile screen is shown when you tap your profile icon or name shown at the top of the Home tab. Note: You can also check a friend's profile by tapping their profile icon on your friend list from the Home tab or in your chat with them.
The information below appears in your profile.
• Your profile icon
• Your display name
• Your profile cover (including decoration items)
• Part of your status message
For more details about the information shown in your profile, as well as how to set or change it, see the following information.
Profile icon
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen. Note:Tap here to go to your profile settings from your smartphone.
2. Tap your profile icon.
3. Tap Edit at the top of the screen.
4. Tap Open camera, Select photo or video, or Profile Studio.
5. Edit the photo or video any way you like, then tap Done. Note: - On some Android devices, only still images can be set as your profile icon. - See About the image-generating AI services in Profile Studio for details. Display name
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen. Note:Tap here to go to your profile settings from your smartphone. 2. Tap at the top right of the screen > Display name.
3. Enter a new display name, then tap Save.
Profile cover
Give your profile some extra personality by adding a profile cover.
To set a profile cover:
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap your profile cover.
3. Tap Edit at the top of the screen > Open camera, Select photo or video, or Decorate profile.
Note: If you've already set a profile cover, selecting Delete profile cover will reset it to the default photo.
4. After making the necessary edits, tap Done or Save.

If you want to set a video, you need to trim it and choose which part of the video you want to play.

- This feature is available on iPhone 6s/6s Plus and newer devices.
- This feature is not available on Android devices with Intel x86 CPUs (e.g. some devices in the ASUS Zenfone series). Please contact the retailer where you purchased your device for information about the CPU it uses.
This feature lets you use different items to add flair to your profile and give it your own unique spin.
You can decorate your profile with the following items.
Profile themes
Choose a theme for your profile. Even with a theme selected, you can edit/add a profile cover and decoration items.
Stickers
Add emoji or the stickers you own to your profile.
You can use the following sticker types:
• LINE and BT21 official stickers
• Creators' stickers
• Custom stickers
• Message stickers
• Effect stickers
Widgets
The following widgets are available.
• Counter: Display the date of a special event or the number of days left until it happens.
• Photo frame: Frame your photos and hang them on your profile.
• Social media: Add links to your other social media accounts.
Text
Add text to your profile in the color and style of your choice.
Effects
Select an effect and apply it to your entire profile background.
You can also decorate your profile with the following steps.
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Decorate.
3. Choose the items that you want to use and decorate your profile.
4. Tap Save.
You can edit the items you added by tapping them > . To delete decorated items, tap an item >
or Remove all at the top of the screen > Remove.
Birthday
If you register your birthday and choose to show it, your friends will be able to see it in your profile.
Note: Birthdays are not displayed to users outside of Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.
To set your birthday:
1. Tap the Home tab > > Profile. Note:Tap here to go to your profile settings from your smartphone.
2. Tap Birthday.
3. Set your birthday and tap OK or Done.
Note: If you don't want to display your birthday, turn Show my birthday OFF. Status message
Your status message is a space for sharing your thoughts and feelings on LINE.
You can let everyone know how you're doing, or check your friends' status messages from your friend list.
To set your status message:
1. Tap the Home tab > > Profile. Note:Tap here to go to your profile settings from your smartphone.
2. Tap Status message.
3. Enter a message, then tap Save.

Important: If you are using LINE in a country or region outside of Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand, the phone number-related information in this Help article only applies to LINE accounts created with LINE versions earlier than 13.11.0.
Your LINE ID is a unique key that lets other users find you on LINE. Your LINE ID isn't set when you sign up for a LINE account, so you need to set it yourself.
Setting a LINE ID is optional, and you can still use LINE without one. Setting a LINE ID makes it easier to add friends. You can search for someone else's ID, or exchange IDs to add each other even if you don't know their phone number.
Be advised
As stated in our Terms of Use, making your LINE ID public on the internet for the purpose of meeting other people is not allowed. Please refrain from such activity.
Useful info (for users in Japan)
To protect minors who are using the service, LINE has in cooperation with various mobile service providers partially restricted some features, such as setting a LINE ID, searching for IDs, and searching for friends using their phone numbers for users under 18. To verify your age and gain full functionality, see About age verification. (Only available in Japanese.)
Setting a LINE ID
Be advised
- LINE IDs can only contain lowercase half-width alphanumeric characters, periods (.), hyphens (-), and underscores (_).
- Once you set a LINE ID, it cannot be changed or deleted.
1. From the Home tab, tap > Profile > ID or LINE ID.
Note:Tap here to go to your profile settings from your smartphone.
2. Enter your preferred ID and tap Check.
3. If you see the "This ID is available" message, tap Save or Use.
If you see a message saying "This ID is unavailable" in step 3, it means that someone is already using that ID. In this case, please register a different ID.
If you see a different error message, or if the LINE ID field doesn't change and remains blank, your device information may not be synced with the information on LINE's servers. In that case, try syncing your profile and settings data. Changing your LINE ID
Once a LINE ID is set, it cannot be changed.
If you want to change your current LINE ID, you need to delete the LINE account first. You can set a new LINE ID after creating a new LINE account.
Note: When you delete your account, all data is deleted, including purchased items, your registered phone number, friends and groups, chat history, and registration with other authorized apps such as LINE Games. Checking and sharing your LINE ID
To check your LINE ID:
1. From the Home tab, tap > Profile.

2. Check what LINE ID is displayed in the ID or LINE ID field.
If you want to copy and share your LINE ID, tap Copy to the right of it. You can paste the copied LINE ID by tapping a message text box, note, or other place to enter text > Paste. Preventing others from searching for your LINE ID
1. From the Home tab, tap > Profile.

2. Turn Allow others to add me by ID OFF.

AI services in Profile Studio
These are paid services that automatically generate images based on photos you select.
Note:
- You can use this feature with the latest version of LINE. (Update LINE to the latest version.)
- Not available on iPad.
LINE Coins are needed to generate images. For more information, see the following Help content.
Generated images can be set as your LINE profile icon and shared with friends.
Follow the steps below to generate and use images from our AI services. Generating images
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Profile Studio > the AI service you want to use.
3. Tap the button at the bottom of the screen.
4. After checking the Photo guide, agree to the Terms of Use and policy outlined in Handling of Information, then tap Select photos.
5. Select your photos, then tap Choose or Upload.
6. Select a gender for your generated images, then tap Next.
Note: This step does not apply to AI Baby.
7. Select an image package, then tap Next.
Note: Please purchase more Coins if you don't have enough.
8. Confirm the details, then tap Purchase.
You'll receive a completion message from the LINE Profile Studio official account when your images have finished being generated.
Setting an AI image as your profile icon
1. Access the Your AI images screen by either:
• Tapping See images in the LINE Profile Studio official account message.
• Tapping the Home tab > your icon or name at the top of the screen > Profile Studio > at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the package containing the image you want to set as your profile icon.
3. Select the image, then tap Set as profile at the bottom of the screen.
4. Edit the image to your liking and tap Done.
Note: If you don't want to post your profile icon change in your story, uncheck Share to stories.
Sharing AI images with your friends
1. Access the Your AI images screen by either:
• Tapping See images in the LINE Profile Studio official account message.
• Tapping the Home tab > your icon or name at the top of the screen > Profile Studio > at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the package containing the image you want to share.
3. Select the image, then tap / .
Note: To select multiple images, tap and hold an image or tap at the top of the screen.
4. Select who you want to share the image with, then tap Share.
Saving AI images
You can save generated images to your device.
To do so:
1. Access the Your AI images screen by either:
• Tapping See images in the LINE Profile Studio official account message.
• Tapping the Home tab > your icon or name at the top of the screen > Profile Studio > at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the package containing the image you want to save.
3. Select the image, then tap at the bottom of the screen.
Note: To select multiple images, tap and hold an image or tap at the top of the screen.
MINI STUDIO
You can set LINE FRIENDS and other characters to your LINE profile.
To do so:
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Profile Studio > MINI STUDIO.
3. Tap Allow.
Note: You only need to do this the first time you follow these steps.
4. Select the character you want to use.
5. Tap Set as profile > OK.
A special badge will also appear at the bottom right of your profile icon when you set a character as your profile icon with MINI STUDIO.
AlphaCrewz
AlphaCrewz is LINE's 3D avatar service.
To set an avatar you created on AlphaCrewz to your profile:
1. Tap the Home tab > your icon or display name at the top of the screen.
2. Tap Profile Studio.
3. Tap AlphaCrewz.
4. Install the AlphaCrewz app and sign up for the service.
Note: You only need to do this the first time you follow these steps.
5. Follow the instructions on the AlphaCrewz app and create an avatar.
6. Make any additional changes via your LINE profile settings, then tap Done.
Updates to your profile or cover photo are posted to your story by default. If you don't want an update to be shared in your story, uncheck Share to stories at the bottom of the photo editing screen.
