Important: The information about phone numbers in this Help article only applies to LINE users in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

After you reinstall the LINE app, you need to transfer your LINE account to continue using your current account and chat history.

Steps to take in advance

Reinstall the LINE app

  1. Delete the LINE app (on iOS/on Android).
  2. Reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  3. Transfer your LINE account using your phone number or Apple ID/Google account.
  4. Once the screen to restore your chat history appears, tap Restore chat history.
