Reasons accounts are suspended
Your account may be suspended in situations such as those listed below.
Note: For security reasons, we are unable to provide our specific criteria for suspending accounts or reasons for our account suspension decisions.
- Confirmation of serious violations, such as fraud, misconduct, or impersonation
- Activity determined to be continuous and malicious spam or harassment
- Lack of improvement in behavior even after repeated suspensions
- Other behavior determined to have a serious impact on the safe operation of the LINE service
What happens to suspended accounts
When a LINE account is suspended, the following features become unavailable.

- Sending/receiving messages
- Searching for and adding friends
- OpenChat (only available for users in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand), making calls, and various other LINE features
- Logging in to the LINE account
Lifting of account suspensions
If the suspension is temporary, it may be lifted after a certain amount of time has
passed. On the other hand, if it is permanent, it will never be lifted.
