You can add friends on LINE for PC using one of the methods below.

To add friends using LINE ID/phone number searches:

1. Click the Add friends icon > Search for friends.

2. Choose ID or Phone number.

3. Enter the LINE ID or phone number of the person you want to add in the search field, then press Enter.

4. Click Add.

Note:

- If the person you want to add has turned OFF the Allow others to add me by ID setting on the smartphone version of their LINE account, they will not appear in ID search results.

- The friend you want to add will not appear in phone number search results if they have turned OFF the Allow others to add me setting in LINE.

To add friends from your Friend recommendations:

1. Click the Add friends icon.

2. In the Friend recommendations list, click Add as friend next to the person you want to add.

To add friends using a QR code:

1. Right-click the QR code image in a chat.

2. Click Scan QR code.

3. Click Add.

You can also scan QR codes by:

• Clicking "-" (the Scan QR code icon) under a QR code image you open from a chat.

• Clicking the screenshot button, selecting a QR code, and then clicking "-" (the Scan QR code icon).

QR codes can also be shared via email from the smartphone version of LINE by tapping Add friends > Invite.

Note: You cannot display your own QR code on LINE for PC.

Who will appear in my friend recommendations? toggle

If you're logged into your account on the smartphone version of LINE

The users that appear in Friend recommendations on the smartphone version of LINE will also appear on the PC version.

For information about how Friend recommendations work, please see this Help article.

If you're logged into the account you registered on the PC version of LINE

The following users will appear in your Friend recommendations:

• Users who have your phone number and are also using LINE (but you don't have their phone numbers).

• Users that knew your LINE ID and added you by searching it on LINE.

• Users who were in the same group or multi-person chat room and added you from the member list.

• Users who added you from your contact information (LINE account information) that was shared in a chat room by a different friend.

Note: If your contact information was shared, the user will only be able to see your name registered on LINE, profile photo, and status message.

• Users who added you from a URL in an invite email or using a QR code.

How do I add an official account from the PC version of LINE? toggle

To add an official account as a friend follow the steps below:

To add by LINE ID

1. Click on the Add Friend icon at the top of the screen.

2. Enter the ID for the official account and hit Enter.

3. Click Add.

You can confirm the LINE ID by going to the LINE official blog.

To add by Official Account Recommendations

1. Click on the Add Friend icon at the top of the screen.

2. Select the account from the Official Account Recommendations list.

To add an official account that is not in the list, please add by LINE ID.
