How do I change the language settings? toggle
You can change the language settings by following the steps below.

1. Click the settings icon on the left menu bar.
2. Click Settings.
3. Select the language from Basic > Language.

Which versions of LINE can I use on PC? toggle
You can use the following versions of LINE on PC. The versions of LINE available to you will vary depending on your OS, so make sure to only check the information relevant to the OS you're using.

Windows 7

How do I check which PC version of LINE I am using? toggle
Please follow the steps below for your version of LINE.

Windows
1. Start LINE.
2. Click the cogwheel icon > About LINE.

Mac
1. Start LINE.
2. Click the cogwheel icon > About LINE.

Windows 10
1. Start LINE.
2. Click About LINE on the bottom of the login screen.

Chrome
1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
2. Click the three dots on the top right of the browser > More tools.
3. Click Extensions.
4. See the version displayed next to the LINE icon.

Can I change my registered email address on LINE for PC? toggle
Your registered email address cannot be changed on LINE for PC.

If you're only using LINE for PC
To change your email address, you will need to delete your current account and sign up for a new one.
Important: This will delete your friends and chat history.

If you're using LINE on both your smartphone and PC
You can change your email address from the LINE smartphone app. For the steps to change your email address, see this Help article.

Recommended system specifications for LINE toggle
We recommend the following system specifications for using LINE.

Smartphones
• iOS: 10.0 or later
Note: LINE cannot be newly installed on earlier versions of iOS. However, earlier iOS versions are compatible with the versions of LINE listed below:
- iOS versions earlier than 8.0: LINE version 6.7.0
- iOS versions 8.0 and earlier than 9.0: Up to LINE version 7.16.0
- iOS versions 9.0 and earlier than 10.0: Up to LINE version 8.13.0

• Android: 5.0 or later
Note: Android OS versions between 4.4 and 4.4.4 can only use LINE up to version 9.10.2. With Android versions earlier than 4.4, LINE cannot be installed from Google Play Store. If you are using an app store provided by your device manufacturer or mobile service provider, you can use up to the following versions of LINE:
- Between Android versions 4.1 and 4.3.1: Up to LINE version 8.11.0.
- Between Android versions 4.0.3 and 4.0.4: Up to LINE version 7.2.2.

• Windows 10 Mobile: OS 10

PCs
• Windows 7 and later
• Mac OS X 10.10 or later
• Chrome browser version 42 or later

Use the Chrome version of LINE with the following OSes.
- Windows: 7 and later
- Mac: OS X 10.9 and later
- Chrome OS

iPads
• iPad 4 or later (iOS 10.0 or later)

Smartwatches
• Android Wear: Android OS 4.3 or later
• Apple Watch: watchOS 4 or later
Note: New accounts cannot be created on smartwatches.

LINE is not supported on the devices below:
- iPod touch
- WALKMAN
- SmartTV BOX
- Fire OS devices such as Kindle
- PHS devices
- Simulators/emulators (virtual environments)
- Android tablets
- Devices with a custom OS

Deleting your account toggle

Uninstalling or deleting the LINE app will not delete your account.

 

If you want to delete your account, read the following notes before trying the steps below.

Note: You can only delete your account from the PC version of LINE if you signed up for it on PC.

 

Important:

- Deleting your account will also delete all data such as your registered phone number on LINE, friends, groups, chat history, etc.

- Even if you reinstall LINE, you won’t be able to restore your data after your account is deleted.

 

1. Log in from the Windows 10 version of LINE.

2. From the main menu, click the settings icon > Settings.

3. Click Privacy.

4. Click Delete My Account.

Note: If Delete My Account doesn't appear, make the app full screen and try again.

Changing your profile photo toggle
To change your profile photo:

1. Click the settings icon > Settings.
2. Click Basic.
3. Click the camera icon on the lower right of your profile photo > Choose Photo.
4. Select the photo you want to set and click Open.
5. After cropping the photo, click OK.

Changing your display name toggle
To change your display name:

1. Click the settings icon > Settings.
2. Click Basic.
3. Click the pencil icon next to your display name.
4. Enter a name and then press the Enter key or click the check mark.
