How LINE Points are automatically exchanged for Coins toggle
If you are short Coins when trying to buy stickers or themes, but have enough Points to make the purchase, they will be automatically exchanged for Coins.

The following versions of LINE will convert the Points you have saved up automatically.

• iOS
LINE version 6.8.5 and later

• Android
LINE version 6.8.2 and later

You can check your Coin balance from your smartphone here.

The amount that appears under My Coins will include your LINE Points converted to Coins.

The exchange rate may differ depending on the country you are using LINE in. You can view the various rates here.

Your balance will appear under My Coins as in the following examples (For countries where 1 Coin = 2 Points):
• If you have 60 Coins and 80 Points, your balance will be 100
• If you have 10 Coins and 100 Points, your balance will be 60
• If you have 0 Coins and 100 Points, your balance will be 50
• If you have 0 Coins and 90 Points, your balance will be 45

What is Letter Sealing? toggle
Letter Sealing is a feature that provides end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for chat room messages. E2EE is a communication system designed so that messages saved on our servers are encrypted and cannot be read by anyone except the sender and receiver of the message.

Once the sender and receiver have both turned on Letter Sealing, they will be able to start sending messages with added security.

The following information will be encrypted:

• Text messages (not including messages sent through other services)
• Location information
• 1-on-1 free voice calls
Note: We plan to expand Letter Sealing’s functionality in the future.

If you use the PC version of LINE after turning on Letter Sealing, you will be required to verify your identity the first time you send a message.

In order to use this feature, you need to be using LINE version 5.3.0 or later. If you’re running an older version of the app, you can update it here.

Data that can be transferred toggle
Please see the following for a list of what can and cannot be transferred.

Data that can be transferred:
- Your friends list (including groups)
- Notes and albums
- Profile settings (profile photo, display name, Status Message, ID)
- Timeline and Home posts
- Data saved in Keep (including images, videos, text, files)
- The right to use your LINE stickers and themes (including those received as gifts)
- Your purchase history and Coin and LINE Point balance
- Registration information for linked apps, such as LINE Game titles and LINE PLAY

- Coins cannot be transferred between different OSes (e.g. from iOS to Android and vice versa).

Data that cannot be transferred: 
- Your chat history

What are Letter Sealing key fingerprints? toggle
Letter Sealing uses unique, user-specific encryption keys which allow users to safely and securely send messages to one another.

LINE displays a short string, called a “key fingerprint” that uniquely identifies each user’s key.
Note: The actual keys are kept secret and will not appear on LINE.

You can use the key fingerprint to verify the identity of your friend and check that your chat is using end-to-end encryption.
Note: Use of key fingerprints is optional.

To compare key fingerprints, please see the following steps:

1. Open a chat with Letter Sealing turned ON.
2. Tap the V icon at the top-right of the screen > Chat settings > Encryption keys.
3. Compare the key fingerprints on both you and your friend's devices.

If the key fingerprints match, it means the chat is end-to-end encrypted.

To compare key fingerprints with your friend, we recommend meeting face-to-face or using a form of communication you trust.

How do I back up my chats? toggle
You can back up your chats by selecting Backup Chat History from each chat room.

When you back up your chat history, backup files will automatically be created on the SD card or on your device. Before backing up your chat history, make sure you have enough free space on the SD card and your device.

To back up your chat history, please follow the steps below:

1. From the Chats tab, select the chat room with the chat you want to back up.
2. Tap the V icon at the top-right of the screen > Chat Settings.
3. Tap Backup Chat History.

If you want to restore your chat history at a later time, select Backup All and follow the steps above for each chat room.
- If you select Backup as a Text File, things such as stickers, photos, videos, and voice messages will not be saved and cannot be restored.
- If you select Backup All, you will be able to restore things such as your chat history and stickers for each chat room you selected this option for.

If you are viewing this page on your smartphone, tap this link to move to your chat list.

If you successfully carried over your account from the LINE User Login screen, you will be able to restore the chats that were saved by selecting Backup All.

Important notes when changing devices:
- If your chat history was saved on your device, you will need to copy the backup file to an external device like an SD card.

Transferring a LINE account toggle
To continue using your existing LINE account after changing to a new device, you need to have either registered an email address or linked it with a Facebook account on your previous device.

If you are not receiving the verification code through SMS, please try resending it or verify using the automated call verification option. You can also verify using your Facebook account.

Using LINE for PC toggle
To use LINE for PC, you need to register an email address on the smartphone version of LINE. See this Help article for the steps to register an email address.

After registering an email address, download LINE for PC here.

Once you've downloaded LINE for PC, try logging in using the email address and password you registered on the smartphone version of LINE.

If you can't use LINE on your smartphone, you can sign up for a new account on LINE for PC. For more information, see this Help article.

What is Call Me Instead? toggle

Call Me Instead is another option you can use to verify your phone number.

Please try the following steps if you are unable to receive the verification SMS when verifying your phone number. By performing the following, you will be provided with a 4 digit verification code from the on call guidance.

If Call Me Instead does not appear, it means that verification of your phone number was automatically completed or this option is not available to you.

1. Start LINE and tap Log in or Sign up.

2. Select your country and enter your phone number, then tap Next.

3. On the Registration screen, tap Call Me Instead. You will receive a phone call to the phone number you entered.

4. Enter the 4 digit verification code provided by the on call guidance and tap Next.

Verifying an account with Facebook toggle
If you are unable to verify your account using SMS or a phone call, you can also use your Facebook account. 

Please follow the steps below to verify using Facebook:
1. Install LINE and tap Sign up on the initial start-up screen.
2. Tap Log in with Facebook.
3. Log in to Facebook.
