You can use text formatting when you enter your messages in a chat. See below for a list of the available formatting options and information on how to use them.
Note: Your messages will appear formatted after you send them in a chat.

Formatting	Method	Example
Bold	Enter a half-width or full-width space and a half-width asterisk (*) before and after a word or phrase.	Wanna have the birthday party tomorrow night ?
Italic	Enter a half-width or full-width space and a half-width underscore (_) before and after a word or phrase.	_Yeah!_ Let's meet at my place.
Strikethrough	Enter a half-width or full-width space and a half-width tilde (~) before and after a word or phrase.	How does ~3:00~ 5:00 sound for today's appointment?
Emphasizing text	Enter a half-width or full-width space and a half-width backtick (`) before and after a word.	Hello everyone. I'd like to schedule the meeting for `3 pm` . Does that time work for you?
Emphasizing paragraphs	Enter a half-width or full-width space and three half-width backticks (```) before and after a sentence.	Hello everyone. ```I'd like to schedule the meeting for 3 pm. Does that time work for you?```

You can also use text formatting by selecting the text you want to format and clicking the Bold icon

You can show how you feel about chat messages using special emoji reactions.

After someone sends a chat message, you can react to it for up to seven days.

Note: This feature is available with the latest version of LINE.

To react to a message:

1. Move your mouse cursor over the message you want to react to.

2. Click

.

3. Select a reaction.

Click the reactions directly below a message to see the full list of who reacted to it.

To change/cancel your own reaction:

1. Move your mouse cursor over the message you reacted to.

2. Click

.

3. Click the same reaction that you chose before to cancel it, or change your reaction by clicking a different one.

Note: You cannot remove your friends' reactions.

Aside from text, you can send the following content in chats.

Stickers and emoji

You can send stickers that can express your feelings using only illustrations, and emoji along with text (with some exceptions.)

Photos, videos, documents, and audio files on your PC

To send a file saved on your PC in a chat:
1. Open the chat you want to send the file to.
2. Open the folder where the file you want to send is saved.
3. Click and drag the file to the chat you want to send it.
4. Check the Send files preview window and click Send.

Useful info

On the Send files preview window, you can:
• Click and hold reorder icon

to the left of a file, then drag it to rearrange its order if you're sending multiple files.
• Click trash can icon

to the right of a file to cancel sending it.
• Add more files by dragging them to the Send files preview window.

You can also send a file by clicking the Send file icon at the bottom of a chat, selecting a file, and clicking Open.

If the file type you are sending is not supported, you can send it as a zip file.

Screenshots

To send a screenshot, refer to the section below based on the version of LINE you're using.
Note: You cannot use the screenshot feature if the capture screen icon is grayed out, such as when interacting with an official account.

LINE for Windows/Mac

1. From the main menu, click chats

2. Select the chat you want to send a screenshot.
3. Click the Capture screen icon at the bottom of the text box.
4. Drag and select the area you want to take a screenshot of, then click check mark

5. Press Enter or Alt + Enter (Command key + Enter on Mac) to send.
Note: You can send up to 20 screenshots at a time.

You can also take screenshots by clicking the Capture screen icon from the main menu. To send a screenshot to a chat, click

and select who you want to send the screenshot to > Share, and press Enter or Alt + Enter (Command key + Enter on Mac) to send.

LINE for Chrome

1. From the main menu, click chats

2. Select the chat you want to send a screenshot.
3. Click the Capture screen icon at the bottom of the text box.
4. Select what you want to take a screenshot of from either Chrome Tab, Window, or Entire Screen, then click Share.
5. Specify the desired area for the screenshot on the screen you selected, then click the capture screen icon.

You can check all of the content that has been shared in a chat at once. Just click options icon

at the top of the chat screen and select Photos & videos, Files, or Links.

From Photos & videos:
Click check mark

on the top right of the photo or video to share it with other chats or download it to your PC. You can also jump to the message in which a photo or video was sent by moving your cursor over the photo or video and clicking See in chat.

From Links:
Click a link to go to that website. You can also jump to the message in which a link was sent by moving your cursor over the link and clicking See in chat. If you want to copy a link, move your cursor over the link and click copy icon

From Files:
Click a file to save it to your PC. You can also jump to the message in which a file was sent by moving your cursor over the file and clicking See in chat.

Items such as photos, videos, files, and links shared in a chat can be sent to Keep Memo. For information about Keep Memo and how to send items to it, see the following Help article.
