You can log in with the biometric information (e.g. face, fingerprint) registered to your smartphone when you use LINE on your PC or iPad.

Requirements for using biometric logins:
To use biometric logins, the smartphone with biometrics registered to it needs to meet
our system requirements.
To log in with biometrics, you need:
• LINE version 11.15.0 or later.
• An iPad or a Windows or Mac device (to use with logins on LINE for iPad or LINE for PC).
Preparations for logging in with biometrics:
To be able to log in to your LINE account on an iPad or PC using biometrics, you need to configure the following settings on your device beforehand.
On iOS:
1. Register Face ID or Touch ID on your iPhone.
2. From your device's Settings, tap LINE and turn ON Face ID or Touch ID.
On Android:
1. Register your biometric information to your smartphone.
2. Allow biometrics to be used for logins in the LINE app.
Note: For details, check your phone manufacturer's website.
After configuring your device's settings, open the LINE app, then:
1. Tap the
Home tab >
Settings >
Account.
2. On iOS: Tap
Face ID/
Touch ID >
Enable.
On Android: Tap
Link next to Device unlock method >
Enable.
You'll know setup is complete when you see
Unlink next to Face ID/Touch ID or Device unlock method.
Useful info
- To only use biometrics and QR codes to log in to your account, tap Home > Settings > Account > and turn OFF Log in with password.
- Turning Log in with password off will not log you out of any devices you're already logged in to.
Steps for logging in with biometrics:
Important: The contents of this section only apply to LINE accounts created with LINE versions earlier than 13.11.0 if you're not using LINE in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or Thailand.
When logging in to LINE with biometrics for the first time:
1. Open LINE for iPad or LINE for PC.
2. On LINE for iPad: Enter your phone number and select
Log in with smartphone.
On LINE for PC: Select
Log in with my smartphone and enter the phone number registered to your LINE account.
3. Select
Show verification code.
4. Open the smartphone version of LINE.
5. Select the
Home tab >
Settings >
Account >
Pair a new device.
6. Enter the verification code that appears on LINE for iPad or LINE for PC into your smartphone.
7. Authenticate the login with biometrics on your smartphone when prompted to do so.
When logging in after the first time:
1. Open LINE for iPad or LINE for PC.
2. On LINE for iPad: Enter your phone number and select
Log in with smartphone.
On LINE for PC: Select
Log in with my smartphone and enter the phone number registered to your LINE account.
3. Open the smartphone version of LINE.
4. Authenticate the login with biometrics on your smartphone when prompted to do so.
“Login successful!” will appear when you're logged in. The LINE official account will also send a
login notification message to you in the smartphone version of LINE.
Useful info
If logins with biometrics have been locked, be sure to enter the passcode or PIN configured on your smartphone, which is not the same as the passcode lock for LINE.
Disabling (turning off) logins with biometrics:
1. Tap the
Home tab >
Settings >
Account.
2. On iOS: Tap
Face ID/
Touch ID >
Disable.
On Android: Tap
Unlink next to Device unlock method >
Disable.
When you disable biometrics for logging in to LINE, you'll be logged out of your account on iPad and PC. To use your account on an iPad or PC again, log in with your email address and password or with a QR code. To log in to your LINE account using an email address and password, tap
Home >
Settings >
Account > and turn ON
Log in with password.
