LINE crashes or doesn't start toggle

If LINE closes suddenly (crashes) or doesn't start, try the following troubleshooting tips.


• Update the LINE app.

Issues may occur on older versions of the app. Update to the latest version here.

Note: To use LINE on a Mac with the Apple M1 chip, you need to update the LINE app to version 6.5 or later.


• Restart your PC.

Some issues can be resolved by restarting your device.


• Update your OS.

Issues may occur on older OSes. To check if there is a newer OS version available, go to System Preferences > Software Update.


• Check your security software.

Temporarily disable any security software you have (e.g. antivirus, firewall) and check if you can use LINE.


• Delete any unnecessary apps and data.

Your PC and the LINE app may not work as intended if your PC doesn't have enough storage space. Try using LINE again after deleting unnecessary data and freeing up some space.

General solutions for issues with LINE toggle
If you're having issues with LINE, first check which version of LINE you can use on your Mac here, then try the following troubleshooting tips.

• Uninstall LINE for Mac and then reinstall it.
• Restart your Mac.
• Temporarily disable any firewalls or security software you have in place, or allow LINE to connect to the internet.
• Disable any resident or customization software.

I forgot my password toggle
If you forgot your registered password, there is no way to check it. Please change your password on the smartphone version of LINE.
Note: After setting your new password, be sure to keep it safely so you don't forget it.

1. Start the smartphone version of LINE.
2. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Account.
3. Tap Password.
4. Enter your new password, then tap Change password.
Note: In some cases, you may be required to enter your smartphone's unlock method.

An identity verification code appears toggle
We have added enhanced security to LINE for PC to prevent unauthorized LINE logins.

If you see a verification code when you log in to LINE for PC, you will need it to verify your identity on the smartphone version of LINE.

To verify your identity:
1. Start LINE for PC.
2. Log in using your email address or the QR code option.
Note: The verification code will appear on LINE for PC after entering your email address and password or scanning the QR code.
3. Start LINE on your smartphone and enter the verification code that appears on LINE for PC.
