Deleting data from chats

To delete data shared in chats, please see the following sections.
Note: Once data is deleted, it cannot be restored.

Deleting all of the data from your chats You can use this feature on devices aside from LINE for Chrome sub devices.
Main device 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Chats.
2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap Delete next to the content you want to delete, or tap Delete all data > Delete.

Sub device
iPad 1. Tap Settings > Chats.
2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap Delete next to the content you want to delete, or tap Delete all data > Delete.

Android 1. Tap the Home tab > Settings > Chats.
2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap Delete next to the content you want to delete, or tap Delete all data > Delete.

Windows/Mac 1. At the bottom of the main menu, click Settings icon > Settings.
2. Click Data.
3. Under Chat history, click Delete.

Deleting data from individual chats You can use this feature on devices aside from LINE for PC sub devices.
Main device
Users in Japan 1. Tap the Chats tab > the Chats tab at the top of the screen, then select the relevant chat.
2. Tap menu icon > Settings.
3. Tap Delete data.
4. Tap the All periods drop-down menu (iPhone/iPad only), then select the period you want to delete data for.
5. Tap Delete next to the content you want to delete, or tap Delete all chat data and messages > Delete.

Users outside Japan 1. Tap the Chats tab > the relevant chat > menu icon > Settings.
2. Tap Delete data.
3. Tap the All periods drop-down menu (iPhone/iPad only), then select the period you want to delete data for.
4. Tap Delete next to the content you want to delete, or tap Delete all chat data and messages > Delete.

You can also see a list of your chats in order of how much data they use (from most to least data) and delete their data from there. To do so, tap the Home tab > Settings > Chats > Delete data > Delete data by chat.
