Important announcement

LINE VOOM service ends

Note: The following information does not apply to users of the LINE VOOM service in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Refer to the following schedule (as of September 7, 2023) for important dates related to the end of the LINE VOOM service.

Effective January 16, 2024, all data including posts will be deleted.

Note: Exact dates are subject to change. We will notify users in advance if there are changes to any of the dates mentioned in this Help article.

Please note that you'll be able to apply to back up your own LINE VOOM posts on this website from August 7, 2023, to October 23, 2023.

Preventing unauthorized LINE logins (account theft)

There has been an increase in cases of unauthorized logins that were likely due to the use of easy-to-guess passwords. We strongly recommend changing the password you've set on LINE if it can be easily guessed or is also being used with another service.

If the email address registered to your LINE account is with a web-based email service like Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, changing the password registered to your email account will give you even more protection.

Note: For details about changing your password with other services, contact the relevant service provider.

Using LINE on an iPad

You can use LINE on your iPad in the following ways.

Using your LINE account on your smartphone and your iPad

Enter the email address and password registered to your LINE account, then tap Log in.
Note: To log in with a QR code, tap QR code login. For details, see the following Help article.

Received notification but no message arrives

It may sometimes take a while for the actual message to be received (displayed) after the notification is received. If you are still having problems, please try the following steps.

1. Go back to the list of chats, then open the chat you are having problems with again.
2. Restart your device.
3. Update your LINE app from the URL below.

App does not start or crashes

If LINE is unable to start or closes suddenly (crashes), please try the following.

1. Update the app.
Issues may occur on older versions of the app. Please update to the latest version.

2. Restart your device.
Some issues are resolved by restarting your device. Steps may differ for each device. Please see your user manual for details.

3. Update your OS.
Issues may occur on older OSes. Please check if your OS has been updated to the latest version using the steps below.

iOS: Go to your device’s Settings > General > Software Update.

4. Check your network connection.
Please check if your device is properly connected to the network using your browser.

5. Delete unnecessary apps and data from your device.
The device may not function properly if there is not enough storage space left. Please delete any unnecessary apps or data.
