Possibility of messages being viewed by third parties toggle
As messages sent in chats are covered by the law governing privacy of communications, no LINE employee or third party, besides the chat participants themselves, will be able to view them. What is Letter Sealing? toggle
Letter Sealing is a feature that provides End-to-end encryption (E2EE) for chat room messages. E2EE is a communication system designed so that messages saved on our servers are encrypted and cannot be read by anyone except the sender and receiver of the message.

You will be able to read your chat messages as usual, but with added security if both the sender and receiver have turned on Letter Sealing.

If you use the PC version of LINE (Windows and Mac OS) or the iPad version after turning on Letter Sealing for the first time, you will be required to verify your identity on the smartphone version of LINE with a 6 digit verification number.

Letter Sealing can only be used on LINE versions 5.3.0 or later. If you are using a version earlier than 5.3.0, please update the app from here.
