Using LINE Avatar

You can create and use Avatars by following the steps below.

To create an Avatar:

1. Tap your icon or name at the top of the Home tab.
2. Tap Avatar > Start with a selfie on the Human Avatars tab.
3. Tap Download.
Note: You only need to do this the first time you follow these steps.
4. Choose one of the following options:
• Facial recognition: Center your face in the frame on the screen to create an Avatar that looks like you.
• Gallery: Create an Avatar based on the photo you select.
5. Turn ON Provide photo data for Avatar.
6. Tap Agree.
7. From the Avatars displayed, select your favorite.
8. Tap Add or Edit, change your Avatar's facial features and clothes, then tap Done.
Note: After you've created an Avatar, you can add more from the top of the Avatar screen by tapping Settings > Your Avatars > Create Avatar.

To edit an Avatar:

Tap the face, clothing, background, or pose icon on the Avatar screen.

To share an Avatar:

1. Tap Settings at the top right of the Avatar screen.
2. Tap the menu icon next to the Avatar you want to share > Share.
3. Select how you want to share the Avatar.

When you share your Avatar with your friends, they can add it to their collection and edit it.
Note: Even if your friends edit the Avatar you shared, your original Avatar won't change.

To set your main Avatar:

1. Tap your Avatar on the Avatar screen.
2. Swipe left or right and choose your favorite Avatar.
3. Tap Set as main Avatar.

Your friends will be able to use your main Avatar.

To delete an Avatar:

1. Tap Settings at the top right of the Avatar screen.
2. Tap the menu icon next to the Avatar you want to delete > Delete.
3. Tap Delete.

Taking photos/videos of your Avatar with the AR camera

The AR camera lets you take photos/videos of your Avatar using the real world as a background.

You can take a photo/video of your Avatar with the AR camera using one of the methods below.

To take a photo/video with your Avatar on the camera screen:

1. Tap your icon or name at the top of the Home tab.

2. Tap Avatar > Open AR camera.

3. Aim the camera at a flat surface and display your Avatar.

4. Above the shutter button, move the slider to change where the Avatar is facing.

5. Tap the photo or video icon > the shutter button.

6. Edit the photo or video any way you like, then tap Done > the download icon or Share.

To take a photo/video with your Avatar's face superimposed:

1. Tap your icon or name at the top of the Home tab.

2. Tap Avatar > Open AR camera.

3. Tap the face icon at the bottom left of the screen.

4. Position the camera so that your face is centered in the frame on the screen, then tap the photo or video icon > the shutter button.

5. Edit the photo or video any way you like, then tap Done > the download icon or Share.

On the camera screen, you can:

• Switch to a different Avatar by tapping Select another Avatar at the top of the screen.

Note: You can also use a friend's Avatar. For the steps to add your friends' Avatars, see this Help article.

• Choose a pose by tapping the round icon at the bottom right of the screen.

You can also use Photo studio to take photos/videos of your Avatar together with friends' Avatars in front of a variety of backgrounds. For details, see this Help article.
