About the redesign of the LINE app

We are gradually rolling out the redesigned LINE app to provide an even better experience for our users.

For region-specific details about the redesign, see the following information.

Users in Japan

The LINE app has been redesigned. The main changes of this redesign are as follows.

Chats

A Friends tab has been added to the top of the Chats screen, changing the way some features are accessed.

Home

The way some features are accessed has changed.
You can check notifications about friends, frequently used services, and trending topics all in one place.
When you react to content that interests you, more content tailored to your preferences will appear.

LINE VOOM/Shopping

A Shopping tab has been added to the bottom navigation menu.
The LINE VOOM service has been moved from the bottom navigation menu and remains available under Services on the Home tab.
Some LINE VOOM features, including the camera, themes, and hashtag search, are no longer available.

Users in Taiwan

We are gradually rolling out the redesigned LINE app.

Note: Due to the gradual rollout, the way some features are accessed may change at different times depending on your LINE account.

As part of this redesign, we will roll out the following changes to the LINE app's bottom navigation menu, beginning with some accounts.

LINE VOOM/Discover

A Discover tab will be added to the bottom navigation menu.
The LINE VOOM service will be moved from the bottom navigation menu and will remain available under Services on the Home tab.
Some LINE VOOM features, including the camera, themes, and hashtag search, will no longer be available.

We also plan to change how some features are accessed and where they appear as part of the ongoing redesign. For more details, see the related Help articles for each feature.

Users in Thailand

We are gradually rolling out the redesigned LINE app.

Note: Due to the gradual rollout, the way some features are accessed may change at different times depending on your LINE account.

As part of this redesign, we will roll out the following changes to the LINE app's bottom navigation menu, beginning with some accounts.

LINE VOOM/OpenChat

The Voom tab in the bottom navigation menu will be changed to an OpenChat tab.
When the bottom navigation menu is changed, you will no longer be able to use LINE VOOM.
On LINE versions 26.12.0 and earlier, LINE VOOM will be removed from the bottom navigation menu without being replaced by OpenChat. Please update to the latest version of the LINE app.

Useful info

When OpenChat replaces LINE VOOM on the bottom navigation menu, you will see on-screen instructions featuring Brown, a LINE character.
Tap See more to learn about the changes.
Follow the on-screen instructions by tapping as directed.
If you don't want to review the instructions right away, tap Later.
The on-screen instructions will appear until you follow them to the end or tap at the top right of Brown > OK.

Birthday cards

When OpenChat replaces LINE VOOM on the bottom navigation menu, you will no longer be able to use stories and birthday cards.
