The scroll preview feature lets you view messages in a chat without marking them as read.
Note: Scroll preview is only available in Japan.

- Scroll preview is scheduled to transition into an LYP Premium feature in the future.
Requirements for using scroll preview
- Smartphone/iPad versions of LINE: LINE version 26.15.0 or later (Update LINE to the latest version.)
Note: Scroll preview is not available on LINE for PC or Android sub devices. - Scroll preview turned on in LINE Labs
Scroll preview can be used with the following types of chats.
- 1-on-1 chats
- The Keep Memo chat
- Group/multi-person chats
- Chats with official accounts
- OpenChats
- Unread chat requests
Enabling scroll preview
To use scroll preview, you need to enable it beforehand.
See the steps below to enable scroll preview.
- In the LINE app on your main device, tap the Home tab >
> LINE Labs. - Turn on Scroll preview.
- In the LINE app on your sub device, tap Settings > LINE Labs.
- Turn on Scroll preview.
Using scroll preview
See the steps below on how to use scroll preview.
- Tap the Chats tab > the Chats tab at the top of the screen, then tap and hold the chat you want to check messages in.
- Scroll up or down on the preview screen to view past messages.
- Tap outside the preview screen to close it.
Be advised
- If you tap the preview screen without scrolling, the chat will open and messages will be marked as read for others in the chat.
- With OpenChats, messages received while the preview screen is open may not appear in real time. If this happens, reopen the preview screen to check the new messages.
