You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).
Follow the steps below to restore your backed up chats.
Useful info
- If you backed up your chat history using Premium Backup, please refer to Restoring your backed up chat history.
- This feature is only available to LYP Premium (Japan) and LINE Premium (Thailand) members.
Be advised
- To restore your chats, turn iCloud Drive on before transferring your LINE account.
- If you've already transferred your account, please reinstall the LINE app.
Note: You cannot restore your chats by starting LINE and tapping the Home tab >
.
- Turn on iCloud Drive.
- Transfer your LINE account with your new main device.
- Once the screen to restore your chat history appears, tap Restore chat history.
Follow the steps below to change your iCloud Drive settings.
Note: Make sure to log in to iCloud with the same Apple ID you used to back up your chat history.
- Go to your device's Settings and tap your username.
- Tap iCloud.
- On the "Save to iCloud" screen or under "Apps Using iCloud", turn on iCloud Drive.
- Tap Apps Syncing to iCloud Drive, then turn on LINE.
Note: If different screens appear on your device and you cannot follow these steps, please contact Apple directly.
- Open LINE on the main device your LINE account is registered to.
- Tap the Home tab >
> Chat history backup under Backup and transfer. - Tap Restore.
