Account transfer basics

You can use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

If the "How to finish transferring your account" screen appeared, you can transfer your LINE account with one of the following methods.

If you can use LINE on your old main device • Turn on Skip 2-step authentication:

The in-app link mentioned in the steps can only be accessed on your main device.
1. Open LINE on your old main device.
2. Tap Settings > Account transfer options, then turn ON Skip 2-step authentication.
Note: Tap here to go to Settings.
3. Tap Continue on the "How to finish transferring your account" screen that appears on your new main device.

• Enter your account transfer code:
1. Tap Get account transfer code on the "How to finish transferring your account" screen.
2. Check the account transfer code that's sent to your old main device from the LINE official account.
3. Enter the account transfer code on your new main device.
4. Tap OK.

If you can't use LINE on (or don't have) your old main device

If you can use LINE for PC/iPad, you may be able to proceed past the "How to finish transferring your account" screen. For information about using LINE for PC/iPad, see Changing the Allow login setting for LINE for PC/iPad.
If you're using (can log in to) LINE for PC/iPad The account transfer code will be sent to you from the LINE official account. If you can log in to LINE for PC/iPad, you can check the code sent in a chat.

To check the account transfer code:
1. Tap Get account transfer code on the "How to finish transferring your account" screen.
2. Check the account transfer code that's sent to you on LINE for PC/iPad from the LINE official account.
3. Enter the account transfer code on your new main device.
4. Tap OK.

If you're not using (can't log in to) LINE for PC/iPad or you don't receive the account transfer code

If you've registered an email address you can receive emails with or an Apple ID/Google account that you can use to LINE You may be able to transfer your account by contacting us with the required information via the Inquiry Form. Please confirm the following important points before contacting us.

There have been cases where response times are delayed due to users selecting options not matching their situation on the Inquiry Form or not providing enough information. To ensure a smooth inquiry process, please confirm the following important points before contacting us.

- We only accept inquiries from the owner of the LINE account that's experiencing the issue.
- In principle, we do not accept inquiries made on behalf of family members, friends, or acquaintances.
- For questions requiring specific information or details about a situation or screenshots, make sure to provide complete and accurate information relevant to your situation.

If you haven't registered an email address you can receive emails with or an Apple ID/Google account that you can use to LINE or don't remember it There is no way to transfer your LINE account.

Please sign up for a new LINE account. To prevent the same situation from occurring in the future when transferring your account, be sure to check your registered information regularly.
