You can use this feature on devices aside from LINE for PC sub devices.

LINE Calendar is a feature that lets you create, share, and check events while using chats.

Note: Users who are found to have violated the Terms of Use may be suspended from using LINE Calendar.

LINE Calendar types and how they appear

Calendar types

LINE Calendar

LINE Calendar includes chat calendars and personal calendars.

Chat calendars

Chat calendars are created on a per-chat basis.

They have the following features.

Chat participants can check events.
A notification will appear in the chat when an event is created, edited, or deleted.
You will no longer see a chat calendar if you leave the relevant chat.

Personal calendars

Personal calendars are calendars that can only be viewed by you.

They have the following features.

They are not shared in chats.
They let you manage your personal events.
You can create multiple personal calendars.

System calendar

A system calendar is the general name for calendars (e.g. Google Calendar) that are imported from outside of LINE Calendar and shown.

Because the data isn't saved in LINE Calendar, the data may be handled differently after changing devices or deleting your LINE account depending on the calendar it was imported from.

With LINE Calendar, you can import and use calendars from the built-in system calendar (OS standard calendar) on iOS and Android devices.

OS standard calendar

Importing the built-in system calendar (OS standard calendar) on an iOS or Android device adds it to LINE Calendar.

The OS standard calendar has the following features.

Only you can check it.
Updates will sync automatically.
Events in calendars for other apps and services linked to the OS standard calendar are also shown in LINE Calendar.

Useful info

If you want to import and show calendars outside of the OS standard calendar in LINE Calendar (e.g. to show Google Calendar events on iOS), you will need to link the calendar you want to import with the OS standard calendar.
Please confirm that the calendar you want to import can be linked with the OS standard calendar.

How calendars appear

LINE Calendar monthly calendars can be viewed in two ways.

Calendars in chats

If you view a monthly calendar in LINE Calendar from a chat, you can only check the chat calendar events for that chat.

You can check these calendars by opening a chat and tapping at the top of the screen.

All calendars

You can check events in your chat calendars, personal calendars, and system calendar.

Checking events

From chats

To check your events, open a chat, then tap at the top of the screen > at the top right of the screen.

From the Chats tab

To check your events, tap at the top right of the Chats tab.

From the Friends tab (Japan only)

You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

Steps

Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll down the screen and tap Go to calendar next to "Your events for the next 30 days."

Selecting which calendars to see

On the All calendars screen, you can select which calendars to see so only events for the selected calendars are shown.

You will not see events from calendars that are turned off.

Note:
- The information on which calendars are set to be shown will be saved for when you access the screen in the future.
- The setting for which calendars to see only applies to the All calendars screen.

Steps

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Check the boxes for the calendars you want to see.

Adding chats with chat calendars to your favorites

When you add a chat with a chat calendar to your favorites, it will be displayed at the top of the list.

Steps

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Tap next to the relevant chat in the Chat list.

Seeing system calendar events

To see events from your OS standard calendar, follow the steps below.

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Tap Sync with your system calendar at the bottom of the screen.

Useful info

In step 2, you can also show your OS standard calendar by tapping at the top right > Sync with system calendar.

Be advised

Updates to events in your OS standard calendar will sync automatically. Also, updates to events in calendars for other apps and services linked to the OS standard calendar will automatically sync to LINE Calendar when they sync with the OS standard calendar.
If you change or add an OS standard calendar event in LINE Calendar, those changes will also sync to the OS standard calendar.
The following features are not supported.
• Sharing OS standard calendar events with your friends using LINE Calendar
• Showing your LINE Calendar events on the OS standard calendar
• Showing or editing items such as attached files that aren't supported by LINE Calendar
• Reminders

Calendars in chats

For details about how to create and manage chat calendar events, see the information below.

Creating events in chat calendars

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the bottom of it.
Tap Calendar.
Enter or select the required details.
Note: Select None from Alert if you don't need a reminder.
Tap Create at the top right.

Useful info

When you send a date or time in a message in a LINE chat, a hyperlink that takes you to LINE Calendar is automatically created. You can also create a chat calendar event via this hyperlink. To adjust the hyperlink setting, tap the Home tab > > Chats, then turn on or off Add events to calendar from messages.
If you want to check existing events before creating a new one, tap at the top of the chat in step 1.
Events created via chats are stored in chat calendars and cannot be changed into personal calendars.

Editing chat calendar events

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the top of the screen.
Note: To see all events, tap > at the top right of the screen.
Tap the date of the event you want to edit.
From the event list, tap the relevant event.
Tap at the top right of the screen > Edit.
Enter or select the details you want to edit, then tap Save at the top right of the screen.
Note: Select None from Alert if you don't need a reminder.
Check Send notification to chat if you want to send a notification, then tap Save.

Deleting chat calendar events

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the top of the screen.
Note: To see all events, tap > at the top right of the screen.
Tap the date of the event you want to delete.
From the event list, tap the relevant event.
Tap at the top right of the screen > Delete.
Check Send notification to chat if you want to send a notification, then tap Delete.

Inviting participants to chat calendar events

You can invite participants when you create or edit events.

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the top of the screen.
Tap at the bottom right of the screen.
Note: For existing events, open the event you want to edit > at the top right of the screen > Edit.
Tap Invited.
Select the members you want to invite, then tap Save at the top right of the screen.
Note: Chat members will appear as potential invitees on the Invite members screen.

Registering/checking attendance for events you were invited to

Registering your attendance

Steps

Tap See event details in the notification message sent in the chat.
Tap Going or Not going at the bottom of the screen.
Note: You can change your Going or Not going selection before the event starts.

Checking event attendance

Steps

Tap See event details in the notification message sent in the chat.
Check the number of people who selected Going or Not going in Invited.

Checking an event's creator

The user who created an event will appear with a crown icon next to their profile icon in the Invited list.

To check an event's creator, see the steps below.

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the top of the screen.
Tap the date of the event.
From the event list, tap the event you want to check.
Check for the member with a crown icon among those who were invited.

All calendars

On the All calendars screen, you can manage events in your chat calendars, personal calendars, and system calendar, as well as create, edit, and delete personal calendars.

Steps

Enter or select the required details.

- Tap Calendar to select the calendar you want to add an event to.

Useful info

Events created via the All calendars screen can be saved by selecting a chat calendar, personal calendar, or system calendar.
When you create an event after the first time via the All calendars screen, the calendar you selected previously will automatically be selected. If you want to add the event to another calendar, change the calendar you have selected and save it.

Editing events in the calendar of your choice

Steps

Tap the date of the event you want to edit on the All calendars screen.
From the event list, tap the relevant event.
Tap at the top right of the screen > Edit.
Enter or select the details you want to edit.
Note: Select None from Alert if you don't need a reminder.

Steps

Tap the date of the event you want to delete on the All calendars screen.
From the event list, tap the relevant event.
Tap at the top right of the screen > Delete.

Creating/editing/deleting personal calendars

Creating personal calendars

Steps

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Tap next to Personal.
Enter a calendar name, then tap Create at the top right of the screen.

Editing personal calendars

Steps

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Tap > Manage calendars.
Tap the personal calendar you want to edit, then edit it from the Calendar info screen.

Useful info

You cannot change chat calendar names or members on the Manage calendars screen.

Deleting personal calendars

If you delete a personal calendar, its events will also be deleted.

Note: Chat calendars cannot be deleted.

Steps

Tap at the top right of the All calendars screen.
Tap > Manage calendars.
Tap the personal calendar that you want to delete.
Tap Delete calendar > Delete.

Setting whether to receive reminders

You can receive notification messages on LINE at the dates and times set for reminders in calendar events for both chat calendars and personal calendars.

To set whether to receive reminder notifications, see the steps below.

Steps

Open a chat and tap at the top of the screen.
Tap at the top right of the screen > at the top right of the screen.
Tap > Manage calendars.
Tap the name of the calendar you want to change the settings for.
Turn on or off Receive reminders.
Note: If you turn the setting off, you won't receive reminders set to the calendar's events.

Checking new and upcoming events

Checking new events from chat notifications

You can check events from the notifications you received in chats when the events were created.

Steps

Open a chat.
Tap See event details in the Event created notification.

Checking new events from the Friends tab (Japan only)

You can only use this feature on your main device (typically your smartphone).

Useful info

Calendar events shown on the All calendars screen are shown on the Friends tab.

Steps

Tap the Chats tab > the Friends tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll down the screen and tap the event you want to check under "Your events for the next 30 days."
Note: If you want to check all of your events, tap Go to calendar.

Checking upcoming events from reminders

If a reminder was set when the event was created, you'll receive a notification from the Service Messages official account.

Note: If you have the setting to receive reminders turned off, you won't receive any.

Checking today's events from the Home tab (Japan only)

Useful info

Calendar events shown on the All calendars screen are shown on the Home tab.

When you access the Home tab, up to two events will be shown at the top of the screen if there are any in progress or scheduled for later today.

If you want to check all of your events, tap the date.

How calendar data is handled after you delete your LINE account or leave a chat

If you delete your LINE account or leave a chat, the relevant calendar data will be deleted in the following situations.

Chat calendars

Group chats: If all chat members leave the chat, the data for its chat calendar will also be deleted.
1-on-1 chats: If both you and the other person delete your LINE accounts, the data for the relevant chat calendar will also be deleted.

Personal calendars

If you delete your LINE account, the data for your personal calendars will also be deleted.
