There has been an increase in cases of unauthorized logins that we believe are due to the use of easy-to-guess passwords.
If someone has logged in to your LINE account through a web service, it means they are able to log in to any other services linked to your LINE account (including both those offered by LINE and other companies).
Note: "Logging in through a web service" means using your email address and password registered to LINE to log in to another service linked to your account via a web browser (and not the LINE app).
If someone knows your information, it is also possible that they could use your email address and password to make unauthorized logins to other services that are not related or linked to LINE.
If you found that someone has made an unauthorized login to your account through a web service, make sure to do the following.
• Turn on Two-factor authentication.
• Block the official accounts of the service that was used.
In some cases, when you log in to a web service with LINE it adds that service's official account as a friend. Go to the Home tab > Friends > Official accounts and block the account of the relevant service if it was added.
• Deauthorize the LINE app from the web service that was used.
The web service that was used may be linked to your LINE account. Deauthorize the service by selecting the Home tab > Settings > Account > Authorized apps > the relevant service > Deauthorize > OK.
• Log out from the website of the service that was used.
Changing the password of your LINE account will not automatically log you out of any web services. Also, deauthorizing the LINE app from a service may not log you out in some cases. Make sure to log out of the relevant web service in addition to taking the measures listed above.
Note: With some companies' services, you can see a list of which devices are logged in. If there are any devices that are logged in to the service, make sure to log out from those devices in addition to logging out from the service's website. For more details on how to do so, please contact the relevant service provider directly.
Let us know if we can make it better.
