Data that can be transferred varies depending on the backup method used for transferring your LINE account and the operating system (OS) you're transferring your LINE account to. Read on to learn more.
Useful info
- If you're using Premium Backup, you can transfer your entire history of text messages and media content (photos, videos, files, and voice messages).
Note: Premium Backup is only available to LYP Premium (Japan) or LINE Premium (Thailand) members.

Useful info
- Messages from official accounts and system messages may not be backed up.
- Some photos, videos, files, and voice messages that expired or were shared before using Premium Backup may not be backed up.
Transferable data that doesn't need to be backed up
• Data saved in albums and notes
• Your friends and groups
• Purchased stickers, emoji, and themes
• Your LINE Stickers Premium usage information (Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand only)
• Your LINE Pay and LINE Point balances
• Your profile information (e.g. LINE ID, profile icon)
• Your status message
• Data registered to apps and services linked to your LINE account
• LINE VOOM content (Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand only)
• OpenChat chat history from the last six months (Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand only)
• Your purchased Manga Coins for LINE Manga (Japan only)
• If you're transferring your account to the same OS
- Your purchased LINE Coin balance
- Some paid items in LINE-related services (e.g. in-game currencies)
Non-transferable data
• Notification sound settings

Transferable data using the free Standard Backup feature

Useful info
- If you have your previous device, you can transfer your past chat history to your new device by backing it up to either iCloud for iPhones or Google Drive for Android devices.
- If you don't have your previous device, you can transfer the last 14 days of your chat history by setting a backup PIN in advance and entering it when you transfer your account.

- If you have your previous device, you can transfer the last 14 days of your chat history by transferring your account using a QR code.
- If you don't have your previous device, you can transfer the last 14 days of your chat history by setting a backup PIN in advance and entering it when you transfer your account.
