There has been an increase in cases of unauthorized logins that we believe are due to the use of easy-to-guess passwords.
If someone has logged in to your LINE account through a web service, it means they are able to log in to any other services linked to your LINE account (including both those offered by LINE and other companies).
Useful info
"Logging in through a web service" means using your email address and password registered to LINE to log in to another service linked to your account via a web browser (and not the LINE app).
If someone knows your information, it is also possible that they could use your email address and password to make unauthorized logins to other services that are not related or linked to LINE.
To prevent unauthorized logins, we strongly recommend
changing the password you've set on LINE if it can be easily guessed or is also being used with another service.
Also, if you've registered a web-based email service like Gmail to your LINE account, changing the password registered to your email account will give you even more protection.
Note: For details about changing your password with other services, contact the relevant service provider.

Changing your LINE account's password:

Turning on two-factor authentication:
1. Tap the
Home tab >

Blocking the official account for a suspicious website:
In some cases, when you log in to a web service with LINE it adds that service's official account as a friend. Go to the
Home tab >
Friends >
Official accounts and block the account of the relevant service if it was added.
Deauthorizing the web service from the LINE app:
The web service the login was made from may be linked to your LINE account. Deauthorize the service by selecting the
Home tab >
Settings >
Account >
Authorized apps > the relevant service >
Deauthorize >
OK.
Logging out from the web service's website:
After you deauthorize a web service, you may still be logged in to it depending on how the other company designed it. Please log out from the relevant service's website.
Be advised
- Changing the password of your LINE account will not automatically log you out of the relevant web service.
- With some companies' services, you can see a list of which devices are logged in. If there are any devices that are logged in to the service, make sure to log out from those devices in addition to logging out from the service's website. For more details on how to do so, please contact the relevant service provider directly.
