FAQs

Logging in and performance issues toggle
If you are experiencing logging in or performance issues, first check which version of LINE you can use on your PC from here, then try the following. 

Windows, Windows 8, and Mac version of LINE
- Uninstall the PC version of LINE and then reinstall it
- Restart your PC
-Disable any security software or firewalls you have in place temporarily, or allow the LINE application to be used.
-Disable any resident software or customization software such as WindowsBlinds, etc.

Windows 10 version of LINE
- Update the PC version of LINE
- Restart your PC
-Disable any security software or firewalls you have in place temporarily, or allow the LINE application to be used.
-Disable any resident software or customization software such as WindowsBlinds, etc.

Chrome version of LINE
- Uninstall the Chrome version of LINE and then reinstall it
- Update the Chrome browser. If you are using Chrome OS, please also try updating the OS.
- Disable background transmitting apps and extensions
- Clear data such as the cache and browser history

What should I do if I forgot my password? toggle
If you are using the PC version of LINE, you can reset your password by following the steps below:

1. At the bottom of the login screen, click Reset Password?
2. Enter your registered email address and click OK.

If you registered your email address on the smartphone version of LINE, you can also reset your password from the app. 

To reset your password, please refer to the following Help article relevant to your device:

Any difference between the PC & Windows 8 versions of LINE? toggle
Yes! The PC version of LINE is a desktop client for use on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS.
The PC version of LINE can be used on Windows XP, however it is not an operating system we recommend.

The Windows 8 version of LINE is optimized to run on Windows 8 and Windows RT Modern UI. It can also be used on tablets and desktops.

I see a verification code to verify my identity toggle
We have added enhanced security to prevent unauthorized logins from the PC version of LINE.

If you see a verification code when you log in to the PC version of LINE, you will need it to verify your identity on the smartphone version of LINE.

Please follow the steps below on your smartphone.

1. Star the PC version of LINE.
2. Enter your email address and password and click Login.
3. A 4 digit verification code will appear.
4. Start the smartphone version of LINE and enter the verification code that appears on the PC version of LINE.

Which versions of LINE can I use on PC? toggle
You can use the following versions of LINE on PC. Please note that the versions of LINE available to you will vary depending on your OS. Please refer to the following based on your OS.
