Opening links in chats with your default browser

LINE Labs

LINE Labs lets you try out features that may be released as official services in the future.

To enable features offered in LINE Labs:

1. Tap Settings > LINE Labs.

2. Turn the features you want to use ON.

The following features are offered in LINE Labs:

• Chat folders

• Silent messaging

• Open links in your default browser

• Search for media in chat

Note: You can only use this feature if your device is running iPad OS 15 or later.

The Chat folders feature lets you group your chats into separate folders so you can find them more easily. Your chats will automatically be put into the Friends, Groups, or Official accounts folder, as well as the All folder.

To use chat folders:

1. Tap Settings > LINE Labs.

2. Turn Chat folders ON.

The Open links in your default browser setting lets you open links in chats with the browser you've configured on your device (e.g. Safari, Chrome).

To open links in your default browser:

1. Tap Settings > LINE Labs.

2. Turn Open links in your default browser ON.

The Search for media in chat feature lets you search chats for photos, videos, and audio.

To use the Search for media in chat feature:

1. Tap Settings > LINE Labs.

2. Turn Search for media in chat ON.

3. Tap Download in the pop-up that appears.

4. Tap the Search field at the top of the Home or Chats tab, or the magnifying glass icon at the top of a chat.

5. Enter what you want to search for in the text box or search field.

Note:

- For information about LINE Labs, see this Help article.

- You will not be able to search for media that was shared in chats before you turned this feature on.

Important: This feature is not available in Korea and the United States.

The Silent messaging feature lets you send messages without notifications when you don't want to disturb the recipient.

To send silent messages:
1. Tap Settings > LINE Labs.
2. Turn Silent messaging ON.
3. Create a message in a chat, tap and hold the send icon, and then tap Send silently.
